And just like that…….

I just love how when you are trying to teach your child something God teaches you.

Over the weekend I was reminding my daughter about a conversation I was privy to when a volleyball trainer shared with her that the hustle, she does on her own time, will make the difference of what kind of player she will be on the court. In an effort to drive home to her no matter how many sessions they worked one on one on the mechanics and regardless of the number of team practice sessions she gets under her belt the real difference is going happen in the work she does that no one sees. Her trainer was encouraging her to agility and speed work on her own time, to discipline herself and make it part of her day, she even encouraged her that it doesn’t have to be something HUGE that takes up here entire afternoon or she has to get up hours before school but reminded her just jumping rope for 10 minutes a day will make a huge impact on her performance. Isn’t it something how that translates over to our spiritual walk? Very simple but such a huge spiritual powerhouse if we will recognize it and apply it….and I am thankful that our conversation quickly moved away from sports and onto the spiritual which is the most important discipline needed in our lives. I love the Lord with all that is in me, but I want my life to back up with my mouth professes; to be disciplined and go into that secret prayer closet and fight a good fight of faith, lifting up those around me for strength, lifting up those names before the Lord who keep walking away from him every time he knocks. To do that spiritual warfare hustle in the quiet place and know that the “spiritual hustle” I practice in the place that no man sees but my God does will and can move mountains!
